Ensembles in the Schools

This season our chamber ensembles, the Brass Quintet, the Woodwind Quintet, and the String Quartet, will provide onsite performances in schools all over Idaho. These school visits enable the children to hear and see the instruments up close, meet the musicians, ask questions, and learn about life in the arts.

Verde Percussion Group

The Verde Percussion Group is comprised of the percussion section of the Boise Philharmonic. The members of the group have an extensive background in education and playing experience. The mission of the group is to provide an outstanding educational experience where children and adults learn about music, the instruments of the percussion group, and enjoyment of the performance through educational programs.

Musicians in the Schools

Individual professional Boise Philharmonic musicians will visit more than 275 second grade classrooms throughout the Boise, Nampa and Meridian school districts.

Each musician will discuss and demonstrate the various sounds that their instruments can make. They will make it relavent to the child and support the school curriculum.

Through multiple studies, developing listening skills through music has a postive impact on reading skills. Visit our blog and discover some of the experiences through the eyes of the musicians.

*Educators always receive a 10% discount on any performance.
